Casarca Tadorna ferruginea

The Casarca is a breeding bird of south-eastern Europe and further eastwards in Asia as far east as Tibet, western China and Mongolia but also breeds in Morocco and Tunisia. For most of it's range the Casarca is migratory. They arrive in The Netherlands in small numbers from the end of July onwards. Birds breeding in Switzerland and (occasionally) in The Netherlands are said to be of feral origin.
