Redpolls
Redpolls - During the autumn of 2005 Western Europe experienced a large invasion of Redpolls Carduelis f.flammea coming from the east. Indeed among the birds involved were birds ringed two autumns before in China! Some of the birds showed characters of Arctic cq. Hoary Redpolls Carduelis hornemanni exilipes such as tiny bills, pure or almost pure white rumps and under-tail coverts etc. The pictures shown here were taken in one large group on 22nd November 2005. |
