22 RINGED PLOVER
Charadrius hiaticula hiaticula
This, the largest, subspecies of the Ringed Plover breeds in W. Europe.
Dutch birds moult and winter in England, Ireland, France and 
on the Iberian peninsula. These birds already nest
during March- June when the arctic Ringed Plovers are still on migration.
