Persian Dunnock Prunella modularis obscura
Charles Vaurie (1959) described this taxon as: brownish , less grey on the sides of the face and neck than nominate modularis, mottled to a varying with white on the breast not so uniform grey, and usually more heavily tinged with brownish on the flanks. Type locality is Gilan,northern Iran, described by Hablizl in 1783. Best illuatratedby Laurel Tucker on page 567 in The Handbook of Bird Identification (Helm,1998).
The bird I found on 18th October 2009 in Stellendam, The Netherlands was constantly harassed by a Dunnock of the nominate race modularis, see pictures below.
