Hudsonian Whimbrel
Hudsonian Whimbrel Numenius (p)h.hudsonicus Engelmoer & Roselaar (1998) recognize two subspecies of Nearctic Whimbrel Numenius (p)hudsonicus i.e. nominate hudsonicus
as well as rufiventris. Rufiventris, which breeds from W. Alaska east to the NW territories, has the typical brownish appearance as in the bird in the first picture. Nominate hudsonicus breeds along the south and west coast of the Hudson Bay.
