Long-billed Dowicher Limnodromus scolopaceus
A rare vagrant in The Netherlands from N.Siberia and West Alaska. The bird in the pictures is in fresh unworn breeding plumage indicating it has not acquired it’s plumage outside W. Europe. The bird is continuesly foraging in order to gain weight for the return flight to the breeding area later this month.
